I purchased a blue “Hydor Aqua Color Aquarium LED” light a few months ago because i was bored with my usual lighting scheme to illuminate my fish aquariums and planted terrariums. In the past, I have always used various types of colored bulbs or florescent tube lighting. I placed this little LED fixture inside my 29 gal fish tank just under the water’s surface at rear corner so it shines at an angle through the front of the tank. The light is quite bright so I have it aimed at my computer keyboard which gives a nice effect! This type of LED is just the thing to spice up the scene and in the future I plan to incorporate more LEDs in my home and other aquarium habitats! If this light wears out I will replace it and others in a heart beat!

This underwater light is versatile and has a two year warranty. You can use it for uplighting a nice plant, or bury the base in gravel, stick it to the sides or back with its strong suction cup. I like to put it on my plexiglass cover, shining down like moonbeams at night. It’s a cool effect, and doesn’t bother the fish since it doesn’t light up the whole tank. I have the blue LED, but I hear the white is also good for this effect. Check my uploaded picture.
