The best way to correctly clean up a flat screen tv set screen
Apr 8th
The television has, with regard to along time period, been one of several centre points of a home. A lot of people spend a lot of time daily watching tv. And now there are several homes with a particular TV the majority have at a minimum two and up. But an important TV, one which the family unit sits in front of as some unit, will likely be the good sized Plasma television. Watching any TV via the film with dust together with grime is no fun, especially so if it is an LCD TV with great harley-davidson picture level of quality. Luckily cleanup the screen associated with LCD TV is a simple job that you can do yourself when and when you need to without needing to wait for a home cleaner into the future and undertake it for everyone. Before everyone begin ensure that your TV set is switched off and, for being an added precaution safeguard, unplugged. But not only is this approach safer in your case and it, its easier to see the dust together with fingerprints in the screen if it is dark. Also assess your master’s manual with regard to cleaning instructions and if anything there’s contrary about what follows, choose the manufacturer’s options. Start using a clean small cloth to wipe the dust through the screen. Remember hardly ever press too rigorous on the LCD screen or it’s possible you’ll damage the application. Next mix two glasses of room heat distilled h2o with two glasses of ordinary white vinegar. Use sole distilled h2o as it has no calcium deposits to blemish the screen. Stir before solution is utterly mixed. Dip some clean soft cloth within a general local cleaning alternative and wring it out till it can be just damp. Wipe the screen gently along with the cloth by ensuring that you do not touch any organ of the screen along with your hands. Again remember to never press too rigorous. Wipe the screen first within a left so that you can right movement thereafter in the to straight down one. Let the screen surroundings dry to see any sites or stains that will remain. Drenched the small cloth again, wring the application out together with gently scrub the tainted areas to fix them. All over again let the screen surroundings dry prior to when turning it on. Take care that the cloth you make use of is sole damp without any more. If any liquid should get on the screen and run down, if may well enter the electronics together with damage it. To clean all of those other TV set, employ a gentle spray of house cleaning product, making sure that the spray doesn’t enter several ventilation openings in the sides or rear for the TV. Should you be indoubt, always dry up clean only and never use any wet small cloth.

Fish Tank Cleaning – How to Properly Clean a Freshwater Fish Tank

Cleaning a fish tank is an important part of owning an aquarium. Your fish need a clean environment to live if you want them to stay healthy and happy. Excess food and fish feces build up over time, which eventually turn into harmful ammonia, so it’s important to keep your tank clean not only for its appearance, but for the health of your fish.
Getting on a good fish tank cleaning schedule will help you avoid algae build up and make it easier to clean the tank each time that you do. You can do a routine clean up in about a half an hour. Cleaning your tank on a weekly basis is the best way to stay on top of the grime and keep your fish healthy.
Many people mistakenly believe that you have to drain the whole tank and replace the water each time you clean the take. Actually, completely cleaning an aquarium can be harmful to the fish. As the fish live in the tank, good bacteria that cuts down on disease starts to grow in the tank. When a tank is cleaned from top to bottom, you remove these good bacteria, putting your fish in harm’s way.
You need to regularly replace 10 to 50 percent of the water that is in the tank on a regular basis. Most people do 25 percent. This way you’ll be able to add fresh water without completely removing the good bacteria. If there are algae on the sides of the tank you can use a scrubber but don’t remove all of the algae because it is natural to their environment and very healthy for them.
Make sure to check the filter for debris, but don’t replace it each time you clean. Good bacteria build up in the filter as well so you’ll only want to replace it when you absolutely have to. Just use a clean bucket full of chlorine-free water and rub your hands across the filter several times to get the bulk sludge and slime off, that’s it!
When decorative items become stained you can remove them from the tank and soak them in a 10 percent bleach solution for 15 minutes, use a brush and be sure to rinse them thoroughly before replacing them! If you do not rinse them thoroughly you could easily kill all of your fish!
Finally, replace the filter, the decorative items and add new water, remembering to use some type of water treatment solution to remove all chlorine. It’s also a good idea to add a little conditioning salt to prevent disease.

Clean Aquarium – Key to the Health of Your Fishes
Posted: Jun 03, 2009 |Comments: 0

The health of your fishes is directly proportional to the state of your aquarium. Aquarium or fish tank also needs the same level of care as the fishes. Actually, aquarium can be equated with your home. It is the abode of your pet fishes. If your home is not clean, you become vulnerable to several bacterial and viral diseases. Similarly, if your fish tank is not in good health, the health of fishes is bound to suffer. And considering the highly sensitive nature of some of these fishes, an unkempt aquarium could prove to be fatal to these delicate species.
The thinking part starts at purchase time only. Your choice of fishes demand complementary fish tank, i.e., smaller fishes can be accommodated in a small aquarium, while bigger ones demand a bigger home for their proper growth. The next step is to set up the aquarium with the desired water level, decorative plants, gravels, water filter, and a pump that provides round-the-clock fresh oxygen in the tank. The lighting of the aquarium is another important aspect that needs careful monitoring. Ideally, two strips of tube lights that run the length of the tank are recommended. If your water is heavily chlorinated, anti-chlorine solution should also be added to the water in recommended dosage.
Another useful equipment for the fish tank is the heater with thermostat if the water temperature is too low.
Then comes the weekly maintenance part. 20% of the water in the tank should be replaced with fresh clean water every week. There is no need to completely empty and refill the tank because the water has already developed the beneficial bacteria suited for proper growth of fishes. And replenishing entire fish tank will deprive fishes the benefits of these bacteria.
The water filter must also be cleaned, every week, of the impurities and fecal matter. If you left it unattended for more than 15 days, its efficiency will be seriously compromised resulting in the development of harmful bacteria in water, and thus, causing all kinds of diseases to your fishes.
There are lots of other measures you can take in order to keep your fishes in the best of health. And you can get such vital piece of information from dedicated magazines, like Freshwater and Marine Aquarium. For best bargains, Internet is the best place to order your subscription at heavy discounts.

Keeping Your Aquarium Clean – Best Ways To Do It

Caring for your aquarium is very important if you plan to have one in your home. For proper maintenance it has to be cleaned at regular intervals. When cleaning fish tanks special care should be given as it is possible that your fish tank can get damaged while cleaning. This could lead to the death of the fishes in the tank.
One of the most importatn things to be done when it comes to aquarium cleaning and maintatinence, is that every single week you msut have the filter in the filtering system in your aquarium cleaned thoroughly. You can either have the existing filter cleaned or replace it with a new one. Sometimes lots of things which get stuck in it could prevent the its proper functioning. Make sure that gravel pieces, or plants which are stuck in the filter are removed when you have it cleaned.
Fragments of algae or rubbish should not be allowed to accumulate inside the tank. Sometimes you will find that on the inner sides of the aquarium walls or the filtering system there are algae growing. The moment you spot this have them removed as they will contaminate the water by making it stale and cause the fish to die. Algal bloom also reduces the efficiency of your oxygen pump, and they take in majority of the oxygen for themselves, thus suffocating the fish, and killing them in the process.
Keep the fishes in a safe place while you have the aquarium cleaned. An ideal way of doing this would be is to place some of the water that is already in the tank in another container and then putting the fish inside it. The required air for the fishes is to be provided till the cleaning of the tank is completed. This will ensure their safety and make sure they don’t die!
Have everything in the aquarium cleaned thoroughly like boiling the gravel or stone pieces. This prevents your fish tank or aquarium by being hit by any sort of micro orgasmic disease or infection of your fish, which may be pretty expensive!! Also clean all the artificial plants kept in the tank with hot water. Cleaning with hot water will ensure that all the rubbish has been removed. Make sure not to use any form of cleaning agents like soaps or detergents, which can contain harmful chemicals. Harmful chemicals will disturb the fish and hit them very hard. It affects their behavior and may even kill them in a few minutes. When your fish die and swim backwards following which they float on one side, then it means the chemicals in some component of your cleaning agent has affected them as this is how fish react to a heavy presence of soap and detergents. Don’t even dare to use over the counter cleansing agents and chemicals- you might just destroy your lovely aquariums inhabitants in the process.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – How To Properly Clean Your Home Aquarium
The most neglected part of the aquarium hobby has got to be cleaning the tank itself. No one wants to do this, not even the most dedicated fish keeper, but it needs to be done.
Set yourself a schedule of routine cleaning and stick to it, your fish will be healthier and your tank will be more in balance preventing algae buildup and other problems.
Cleaning really isn’t that difficult when you have the right cleaning gear. While this may seem like alot of supplies most of it is very cheap at a hardware store. In fact only the algae scraper, blade scraper, and algae magnet will be found at an aquarium store:
Long handled algae scraper and pad
Long handled metal blade scraper
Plastic siphoning tube (any plastic tube will work from hardware store)
A bucket which is only used for aquarium purposes
White vinegar(this is non toxic to aquatic life)
Clean dishcloth
Paper toweling
Filter brushes
Filter pipe brushes
Algae magnet
Sterilizing tablets
An old toothbrush
Setting up a cleaning schedule is very important. The algae magnet should be run across the viewable glass once every day or two. An algae magnet adheres to both sides of the glass can can easily be run across the glass panel from the outside to clean the inside of the glass pane. This takes a mear ten seconds and algae buildup on the viewing panel can distract from your beautiful tank and can be difficult to remove once it accumulates.
Other tank cleaning can be done once every week or two most aptly at the same time you might do a partial water change that way a great deal of the particles that cleaning might dust up can be removed with the water change.
Use the scraper to clean the back glass, often it is just a matter of reversing the scraper so that the pad side is showing. For a real good cleaning use the toothbrush for difficult areas that the scraper can’t reach.
Vacuum the detritus and other particles out of the gravel. This can be done with just a plastic siphon tube make sure the tube diameter isn’t so large that it builds up enough suction to suck up the gravel itself. This will remove any uneaten food or rotting vegetation before it starts to spoil the tank water.
Whatever filter you are using will need to be rinsed on during cleaning as well. If you have a large canister filter you can defer this to every three or so times you clean your tank but the popular trickle filter sponges need to be cleaned every time. Whenever you rinse out the filter sponge or other filter media do not rinse it in tap water. Rinse all filter media with excess tank water from your water change tap water will kill the bacteria in the filter that actually does most of the filtering.
A part of cleaning that is overlooked is the hood and lights. Filters and other circulation pumps splash water on lights and equipment above the tank, this water evaporates and leaves a residue behind that blocks light and looks dirty. Clean these with a damp cloth and white vinegar that will not harm your livestock.
Over a period of time you may find that your tank ornaments will have built up a coating of algae or debris. To clean these, either brush them or simply remove them from the tank and rinse off the debris and algae.
Now you must clean the outside of the tank and the stand. This can be cleaned with ordinary household cleaners but I don’t recommend that. If any of these cleaners accidentally makes it into the water it could contaminate the whole tank. Usually using the a paper towel with white vinegar is more than enough to clean these surfaces but if you need the extra cleaning power of standard cleaners in some spots be very very careful.

What is an Aquarium Kit? The term Aquarium Kit can refer to many different setup variations, but in essence it is the bundling of both the aquarium itself along with some quantity of the needed aquarium equipment to care for your livestock. Aquarium Kits often come with lights, filters, gravel, food, test kits, etc.

Aquarium Hoods, Lids, And Tops
Aquarium lids and hoods serve several purposes. Hoods prevent anything from outside the tank contaminating the water and they lower the amount of evaporation of tank water. Lighting is also a big part of aquarium equipment and hoods offer great accommodations for adding light.

Is Your Fish Tank ‘Really’ Clean?

Is Your Fish Tank ‘Really’ Clean?
Maintaining your aquarium at the right temperature and pH balance, and including one of the different types of “algae eater” fish, will help to keep algae growth from getting out of control. But no matter what you do, there will still come a time that you need to clean the tank with your own two hands.
That can be pretty nerve-wracking if you’ve finally gotten a good balance going in your tank’s ecosystem; we’re all afraid to do something that will hurt our fish when we start cleaning.
Most important tip? Soap, of any kind, is lethal to fish, even in small doses. Don’t use soap in your tank, or on your buckets or tools! I have bought a new bucket for each tank I’ve set up, and labeled it “AQUARIUM” with big red letters so that it doesn’t get used for anything else.
Start by cleaning the inside of the glass on your tank using an algae scraper or pad labeled for aquarium use (the ones you get at the grocery store often have soap or other chemicals on them). You can use a razor blade to scrape any really stubborn residue off of glass (use a plastic tool to scrape an acrylic tank).
Next, you can take out and clean any decorations, like rocks or plants, which are visibly dirty. Just scrub them with your algae pad and rinse them under tap water. If anything needs deeper cleaning, I soak them for no more than fifteen minutes in a 10% solution of bleach (1 part household bleach to 9 parts water), scrub, rinse, and air dry them to let any remaining bleach evaporate.
Now that all the gunk you’ve removed from the glass and the plants has settled onto the gravel, you can use a siphon to suck out the debris – there are lots of different siphons available.
Then clean the light, the cover, and the outside glass with an aquarium-safe cleaner. Trust me, you do NOT want to use regular household glass or lime cleaners – buy your chemicals at the fish store and rinse very thoroughly!
Important Tip: By cleaning all the visible algae from the tank, you’ve greatly reduced the number of bacteria available to sustain the nitrogen cycle. I’d recommend that you do NOT clean the filter at the same time, because it harbors enough bacteria to get a healthy cycle started in your tank again. I always wait two to three weeks after an aquarium cleaning before cleaning the filter.
If your filter uses absorption (carbon, ammonia absorbers, ion-exchange resins), you should just replace it. If it’s a mechanical filter (ceramic rings, filter fiber, or sponges) you can just rinse it gently in water the same temperature as your tank, and quickly put it back in place – that way you won’t be killing all of the bacteria.
Finally, don’t forget to clean out all the filter tubing and other nooks and crannies with a filter brush, to keep the filter working well.

How to Care for and Clean a Saltwater Aquarium
Oct 29th
How to Care for and Clean a Saltwater Aquarium
Most people are unaware or uninformed of how to properly clean and care for a saltwater tank. It’s best to understand how to care for your saltwater tank before even buying one so as to avoid possible problems down the road. The first thing you should be aware of is that you will need to buy filtered water or buy a reverse osmosis kit. Otherwise you can use regular water, making sure it is at the correct temperature, and add in chemicals to remove chlorine and other unwanted chemicals. Maintenance is a necessity and you will need to clean your tank at least once a month. It is best to try to clean the tank as often as every two weeks however, don’t over clean your tank or you will remove some of the beneficial bacteria. Most people think that removing this bacteria is a good thing, but it’s the exact opposite for a saltwater tank. This bacteria is actually essential to maintain a healthy and balanced aquarium.
If you are just starting out with a new saltwater tank, you will need to let the tank sit for 30 days before adding anything to it. It is recommended that you buy some test strips to test out the water and make sure everything is balanced. Nobody wants to invest in a .00 fish and have it die because the water was not tested and the chemical balance was off. Once the tank is established and the chemical levels are stable, it will stay that way, and you shouldn’t need to test it if you do frequent water changes. When cleaning the tank, you will need remove of stir the gravel to remove sediment that could possibly change the chemical make up of the tank. Use caution when cleaning an acrylic tank and be sure that the cleaning supplies being used will not harm the tank in any way.
The best thing to use to remove algae is phosphate drops. When added to the water on a regular basis, algae does not build up as quickly. Another way to avoid an algae problem is to invest in some hermit crabs and snails to keep your rocks and tank clean. Hermit crabs and snails are known to be the clean up crew, and can make a huge difference in your saltwater aquarium if you have enough of them. You will also need to buy a scraper or a scratch pad to clean the glass. A regular cleaning tool will not be strong enough to remove the algae from the glass.
It is very important to aim the filter head down into the water. Failure to do so will result in a build up of salt on the lid of the tank. Good lighting and a strong and efficient filter are a necessity. The tank should only be lit for about 6 hours a day. The more lighting, the more algae will form. You can buy a timer from the pet store to make sure the light is on at the exact time each day. Otherwise the lighting could range from day to day and algae will form. Try to position the saltwater aquarium away from direct sunlight as this will also add to the growth of algae.
The key to maintaining a healthy saltwater aquarium is to keep it clean and algae free. By remembering the ways to avoid algae, you will be able to keep a healthy aquarium for years to come.
