To maintain an aquarium properly you need an aquarium of 12 inch width and height both. This is an ideal size that will fit into a smaller and bigger room both. Here you will get the space to keep multiple types of fishes. You need to buy aquarium with good quality filter to maintain is properly. You need sand, thermometer and heater so that you can maintain the temperature of the water. You also need to main the lights and temperature properly. For a 12 inch aquarium 150 watts are perfect. Light depends on the size of your aquarium and you need to be careful about it. If there is more or lesser light that required then the fishes will suffer badly. You definitely do not want that. You need to keep the light on for 8-9 hours a day. If you keep it on for more than that the water will get warmer and uncomfortable for the fishes.
It is very important to clean the aquarium frequently. However you need to be careful while washing it. Detergent cannot be used as it can harm the fishes and can even kill them. You need to use warm water and sponge. Other than that any thing can harm the fishes. You need to take care of them first. There needs to be a plug socket near the aquarium. You also need to place it far from any heat sources. Then you need to place the sand carefully at the bottom. After that the aquarium heater needs to be placed inside carefully. After that you need to pour water in it and then it is time on switch on the heater. This is important to keep that water temperature perfect for the fishes. Neon tetras, tiger barbs are fishes that you can easily keep. You can also keep gruppies. They look beautiful and lively inside the aquarium. You need not add more than 2-3 fishes at a time. If you put too many fishes at once then it can cause a trauma for them. It is important to keep the fishes happy. It will feel lovely to see these colorful creatures swimming freely inside the aquarium. Your room will get a lovely focal point for sure.

To maintain a good habitat for the fish one needs to monitor the condition of this equipment from time to time.

For fishes which do not heat to survive, one can go for fan cooled canopy tanks. In this system the fans draw out the warm air produced by the led lamps in the tanks. This model of aquarium fish tanks is easy to maintain and is completely tension free. Ideally one needs the change the water in tank every fortnight. The cube tanks also come up energy saving led lamps which provide the inner glow in the tank. The tank capacity of freshwater fish tanks is twelve gallon. The ideal dimensions are, 15.8″ (L) x 13.8″ (W) x 14.8″ (H).

How to set up those tropical fish tanks? Im gonna provide u simple guide.
Shopping list:
tank
special mat to put under the tank ( so it won’t move)
lightning equipped cover
filter
sand or gravel
some plants for start
optional:
Heater (if u want to keep fishes or plants that like higher temps)
Solid case designed for aquariums (if u don’t have something solid to place it already)
decorations like : rocks, caves, stones, roots
Fish tank set up guide:
Put the mat on a solid case then u can place the tank on it. Put the cover on top.
Make sure that u place a tank far from window, so that sun light wont operate on it.
Install the filter as it says in the manual double check if you done it right.
Then start placing gravel. On the back of your tank there should be 24-28 inches (8-9cm) and then sliding towards the front where you should have something like 16 inches ( 4cm) of it.
You may want to put some decorations inside like stones, roots or caves but don’t be silly buying any divers or boats.
Then pour gently water till you reach like 9-15 inches (3-5cm) so you can start planting.
Then you can fill the rest of the tank with water, launch your filter + lightning.

BASIC PIRANHA FACTS
Piranhas have red throats, razor-sharp teeth to rip flesh with ease, and silvery gold flesh (red-bellies have red bellies, of course). Piranhas are native to South America and Guyana and it’s against the law to bring them in and out of most countries. They are quite dangerous and aggressive fish since they reside in schools, which has a tendency to promote a competitive environment.
When planning a piranha aquarium, fish size should be regarded first. Grown piranhas have been known to develop to two feet long in a big enough tank. Piranhas are in addition group swimmers, which means they’ll need room to roam. Strive to provide two gallons per each inch of piranha fish. An aquarium six feet long by two feet by two should allow ample hideouts. A minimum fifty-gallon aquarium is recommended.
TANK UPKEEP AND CONDITIONS

Obviously piranhas are aggressive fish, which makes your choice of tank mates relatively slim. However, some other aggressive fish can co-exist with them. For example, tetras, cichlids, oscars, pleco catfish and pacus. These fish are by and large excellent defensive fish, while the plecos have tough outer shells and can grow to larger, intimidating sizes. Pacus resemble piranhas and will fight back. Tetras are quick and small with sensory instincts which allow them to stay clear of piranhas. Piranhas also aren’t likely to give chase to such speedy, small cohabitants. Cichlids may or may not coexist with piranhas; they have simply been known to team up against them to survive. Oscars are large and in charge and inexpensive to replace if they’re slurped by a fat red-belly.
As a rule of thumb, don’t introduce too many new experimental tank mates into your piranha tank. Add them one by one to see how they adapt. Whatever you do, don’t get too attached to them until you know they’re going to make it!

In this video I talk about my 10 gallon guppy breeding tank. The tank is 3/4th’s filled with water, the substrate is leftover sand from another aquarium. There is a 50 watt heater and a sponge filter in this tank. Additionally I have some artificial plants with java moss and flame moss scattered throughout the tank. To create hiding spots for the new born fry I use breeding mops (I will post a video soon on how to make your own breeding mop) and I use pvc pipe connectors for a few more spots to hide. The tank currently contains 3 pregnant female guppies, which will be removed once the fry are born. Since making the video I have added a red cherry shrimp and he loves the tank

So you’re considering buying a saltwater aquarium and you are doing some initial research. Here are some quick answers to some of the questions that you may have. Are they beautiful? Yes. Are they interesting? Yes. Is it easy to find resources on how to care for them? Yes. Will the chicks dig it? Yes! Do they require care and attention? Yes. When you purchase a saltwater aquarium you are really buying a biosphere, and the life in it is dependent on how you care for the environment. So here are are a couple of things to consider when you purchase a saltwater aquarium.
What kind of aquarium should I buy?
Before you buy you need to consider where you are in life. I know that may seem like an existential thought, but it matters if you are in a season of constant transition. Are you going to move soon? Do you have an apartment? If that is the case then you may want to consider a smaller tank for practical reasons: mobility, shock to the creatures if you move, or just how will it look at your place. What is your budget? An empty large tank is not very appealing. You also need to consider if you are going to purchase an acrylic tank or a glass tank. Glass tanks are difficult to scratch and keep their clarity but can be difficult to move and are less expensive. Acrylic tanks are easy to scratch, lighter, and come in some interesting designs. What kind of design do you want? This line of thinking should get you started in the right direction.
What is the upkeep like?
Maintaining a saltwater aquarium properly is very important. It is so important in fact that you really should keep a log of your observations of changes that are happening inside of it. You will want to take not on thinks like:
Fish: Do they have Parasites? Are they active? Do they have a normal appetite? Does their color look normal? Do their fins look okay?
Water: Is the water clear or cloudy? Is the temperature right? Is the filter system working correctly? Are the chemical levels correct? (Salinity, pH, Alkalinity, Ammonia, Nitrite, Phosphate, Iodine, Calcium)
These parameters will help you determine how often you should clean your saltwater aquarium. The quality of the filtration system will also help determine how often you clean you saltwater aquarium. The more you clean it the easier it is to clean for you the next time. There are a lot of filter options out there but if you are looking for something built in you may want to check out Eclipse, SeaClear. These are quality systems that can filter 150 gallons an hour!
Saltwater Aquariums are a beautiful addition to the home they bring color and an interesting conversation piece to your living space, but understand this is not just something that you can jump into. Do not let your tank become an expensive tropical fish ghetto. This hobby requires some discipline but it is well worth it and like I said before…the chicks dig it!

If you own fish and aquariums, you should have already researched to know how to take care of your fish and aquarium. If you have not, then it is important that you research, asked questions, read materials, etc, which will help you provide proper care to your fish and tank.
If you plan to purchase non-marine and marine fish combined, you will need to consider a variety of details. The one thing you want to avoid is inserting aggressive and non-aggressive fish into the same tank. Unless you want to lose money, this is the best recommendation anyone can offer you. Damsels are aggressive fish, which the fish are typically starter fish. Fish owners tend to start with damsels, since the fish are inexpensive and require less maintenance and attention. It is recommended that you only put two of the same or similar fish in a single aquarium.
In addition to fish, you will need to purchase with your aquarium test kits, buffers, filters, gravel, floss, and so on. It is important to keep fish water fresh. If you have, saltwater fish you will need to add salt every two weeks. In addition, you can purchase fish that will adapt well to saltwater, especially if you have primarily saltwater fish in your tank.
How to maintain freshwater fish?
Common freshwater fish will adapt to nearly any type of tank. Saltwater fish tend to do well in reef tanks. Since freshwater fish will adapt to a variety of tanks, it is easier to take care of the fish. In fact, freshwater fish is recommended for beginners. In the category of freshwater fish are the tropical fish and the Coldwater fish. To help you get started we can consider aquariums.
Considering aquariums
The first thing you want to consider is the area you will place the aquarium. You want to make sure you have sufficient space at your home to spot the tank. You should never put fish aquariums near open Windows, or windows in general. The sunlight will cause photosynthetic organisms (Algae) to grow quicker. You will need to avoid spotting the tank near heaters, or doorways. It is important that you maintain room temperature when caring for fish. You can purchase dehumidifiers and humidifiers, which can help you, maintain room temperature. In addition, when you purchase your aquarium, make sure that you consider filters, floss, gravel, medicines, food, water, etc. You want to make sure that your plug sockets can handle the level of electricity required of fish aquariums.
How to choose filters?
Filters are categorized as chemical, biological, and mechanical. You can purchase external, internal, and under-gravel filtration systems to support your fish aquarium. If you are just starting out in fish care and aquarium care, avoid the under-gravel filters since it will require excessive maintenance, as well as the filters do not produce quality power. However, you can use under-gravel filters in conjunction with mechanical, biological, or chemical filters. It is recommended to learn the actions performed by each filtering system before joining under-gravel filters with another filtration system.
One of the most popular filters utilized is the internal filters. The internal filters include foam cartridge(s) and a diminutive box. The filters work to draw liquid from grills. The liquids are then filtered by the foam cartridge, which exits through the nozzles found at the top of the filters. Beginners could benefit from using the internal filters, since indicators will alert you when to clean or replace the filters. Valves work to produce oxygen, which adds to the advantages of using internal filters. The internal filters also have filtering pads, which remove chemicals while using polyester and/or carbon pads. The strong synthetic fabrics produce low moisture, which absorbs the chemicals. The filters are hardwearing, which means you will not have to replace the filters as often. You will need proper filtration for all fishes, including Tetra.

Aquarium owners once accustomed will hope to one day have many different kind of coral in their own saltwater tank – this is an absolute dream! Starter kits can be purchased where you can take easy steps into growing your own piece of coral. This is a much better way to start and is highly recommended against buying coral from a shop. Growing your own coral ensures that it is acclimatised to your tank. Before starting to set up and care for a coral aquarium, knowledge in this area is required as it is not an easy process. It takes time which is worthwhile in being able to showcase your own grown coral aquarium to its best. For some people, buying fake coral is the easier option, when all it takes is patience of about up to 12 weeks, to create your own piece of paradise underwater. A wonderful sense of achievement and a worthwhile project.
Firstly, you need to start off by assembling your aquarium. Find an ideal area of your home to display the aquarium. Read the instructions carefully on how to set it up as in a freshwater tank. Before you add the water, there are a few simple rules to follow. The bottom of the tank is where you pour the sand first, then followed by the addition of dechlorinated water. Salt needs to be mixed in next, until it reaches a specific gravity measuring 1.205. Decide where you want to arrange your live rock after the water and salt, then install the heater and finally, the hood of the tank. You should then wait approximately 4 weeks for the tank to settle before going ahead with the next move.
Once the 4 weeks is over, it is time to add the first living creatures to your tank. This will ensure that the water is tested for the correct salt balance and stays that way, before you add your fish. During this period, snails and crabs if you have chosen them, can be added. The tank should now be functioning as though you have already filled it with fish, so install a protein skimmer. Check to see that you have the correct lighting and that the filters are doing their job. The light should not be left on for any longer than 10 or 12 hours a day, as this can promote the growth of algae. Once snails or crabs have been added, you should wait 2 more weeks.
You have now reached Week 6, which is when you can proceed with the next stage of adding your first pieces of coral. For saltwater aquariums you will find different types of coral including the common ones like Bullseye Mushroom coral, Button Polyp, Hairy Mushroom Coral and the Yellow Polyp. The coral should be attached to live rock at the bottom of the tank when you add it. You can wait another 2 weeks – all the patience is worth it. It is now the 10th week when you can add Aquacultured Coral with types named Pumping Xenia, Spaghetti Finger Leather Coral and Starburst Polyps as part of your collection of many. Again these should be placed on live rock as with the first set of coral.
Your reef aquarium has now been successfully set up and by the 10 to 12 week period, you will be ready to begin adding your choice of fish to your created underwater world. The process of setting up your coral aquarium is a long and drawn out, but one well worth if for the long years ahead. Your own spectacularly created coral aquarium will give you years of enjoyment as you care for it and your living creatures. The aquarium will be something to be admired and very relaxing in your home. Watch how your family and friends are impressed by your creation!

Yes, it’s true! If you’re just starting out, there isn’t a better aquarium choice for you, trust me, so if you’re having regrets about choosing the Seaclear fish tank, then please do away with them!

Seaclear aquariums are generally constructed from premium quality acrylic. This is great because it means that the aquariums are sturdy and dependable. What is more, due to the material of construction, they actually weigh about half as much as a glass aquarium of the same size and dimensions.
And no, there aren’t any clarity problems just because these aren’t constructed from glass. These aquariums provide possible the best artificial habitat for your beloved fish to grow.

Now we come to the question of how to set up a Seaclear aquarium. While purchasing an aquarium, do be sure to buy an aquarium which is as large as possible. This is because an under gravel filter should be incorporated into the aquarium for stability and maintenance purposes. The Seaclear aquariums filtration considerations are of utmost importance so don’t underestimate them.
They really do make life a lot easier. When you’re deciding on the base material, do keep a basic layer composed of coral two inches thick or some other substrate, for your fish. Coral might be too expensive so you could go in for live sand or even aragonite.
An essential part of setting up a Seaclear aquarium is the heating considerations. Do purchase a thermostatic heater, a thermometer and a hydrometer for your marine friends. This will help you regulate the temperature of the water in the Seaclear fish tank or aquarium of your choice.
Now I’m sure you’ve already started thinking about Seaclear aquarium decorations, but don’t go there yet! You need to fix the aquarium. Choose a relatively less windy area and place it on a sturdy wooden floor, place the under gravel filter appropriately with the air stones, thereafter rinse the substrate material completely, before placing it on top of the under gravel filter.
Add salt to the water and then pour it in! But don’t go overboard. The specific gravity of the water should only be slightly more than that of pure water – about 1.020 to 1.025.
Before you put the fish into the aquarium, make sure to keep it running for a period of twenty four hours in the very least. This is to ensure that the water is sufficiently oxygenated and salt is properly distributed. Before you put the fish into the Seaclear Aquarium, make sure that the temperature is about 80 degrees.

Aquarium Care Guide- New Tanks
When starting a new aquarium it is important to understand the nitrogen cycle. Many new aquarium owners jump into the hobby of fish keeping too quickly. Before purchasing fish, the aquarium must be cycled. This could take anywhere from twenty four hours to four weeks. In an established aquarium there are certain bacteria that help the breakdown of ammonia to nitrates, but they are not present in a new tank because they are generated from existing fish. If there are no existing fish, then there are no good bacteria.
The basic principle of the nitrogen cycle is this. Fish eat food and generate waste. That waste along with excess food and plant debris become ammonia in the aquarium. Ammonia is toxic to fish and needs to be broken down. That’s why the nitrifying bacteria is important. This bacteria, turns the ammonia into nitrites which are more tolerable to fish than ammonia. Next, different nitrifying bacteria will turn the nitrites into nitrates, which are even less toxic to the fish and other aquarium life. The nitrates are collected and minimized by filters; however they will eventually accumulate in the tank. Regular water changes are required to remove the nitrates from the water.
It is important to set up and run an aquarium before any fish are introduced into the environment. Wash the tank and any substrate and decorations thoroughly with water. Don’t use any soap. Fill the tank with de-chlorinated water and attach filters and lighting. Allow the tank to cycle until the water is no longer cloudy and sufficient P.H and water temperatures have been established.
Now it is time to purchase the fish! Buy hardy fish such as danios, barb, gouramis, and live bearers. They should be able to withstand the high nitrite levels and ammonia in the new aquarium. Only introduce about four fish at a time. Float the fish in the bag in the aquarium for about fifteen minutes before adding them to the tank. This will help the fish become acclimated to the water temperature in their new home. When adding the fish, be careful not to allow the water from the bag into the aquarium. It may be contaminated, or will at the very least, throw off the temperature and P.H. Allow the fish about two hours to become acclimated before feeding.
Only feed an amount that can be consumed in the first two to five minutes. Overfeeding is a common problem in an aquarium. It is important not to overfeed, because excess food will become debris adding to the ammonia levels. This is especially important in new aquariums that lack nitrifying bacteria. Test the water P.H. every day within the first month. Watch the tank for cloudiness; if the aquarium becomes cloudy, it may be necessary to add a clarifier. Monitor the fish for signs of stress or illness. A healthy fish will be swimming regularly. Lethargic fish will usually hover near the surface of the aquarium. After about a week change approximately ten percent of the water and begin regular maintenance.
