You now made the decision to start purchasing Aquariums online? Whether you decided to buy acrylic aquariums, 30 gallons aquariums, 55 gallons aquariums, 60 gallons aquariums, or saltwater aquariums, a clear for life aquariums as well as equipment and other devices, you must be asking yourself what the best online store is. Well, you can buy aquarium supplies easily online, just by following some simple steps.
Buying your aquarium supplies from an online shop is a modern and even popular choice. Numerous people are doing this and we constantly, year after year, find more and more aquarist internet shoppers. It is not really a surprise as it is cheaper to buy things online and much more practical as you can place your aquarium supplies order from home or from your office and they will be delivered straight to your door.
Online you can buy all you need for a professional fish keeper. You can buy products like, chillers, lighting systems, powerheads pumps, controllers, protein skimmers, wave makers, dosing pumps and top offs, calcium reactors and really every other items that you might need for aquarium reef keeping. Keep your passion alive, from the help of all these professional websites, who offer a better service than in retail store even.
Every product you buy from Aquarium Frenzy is backed first by the manufacturer of the product or by the warranty of the supplier. Of course every product also do come with a warranty provided by Aquarium Frenzy in case of damages during the shipment or if the product did not quite meet your expectations. The seven day limited guarantee can be provided for either exchange or refund of qualifying merchandise.
Incredibly enough, watching fish, invertebrates, shrimps, crabs, and variety of corals interact with each other’s in the aquarium make for the perfect harmony leading to mind and body to relaxation. That is why many Doctors, and hospitals keep Aquariums in their waiting room, it is very therapeutics, and typically help lead to quicker recovery and reduced blood pressure. Most people try to reproduce the natural habitats of many of these animals striving for perfect harmony.
An Aquarium will always make a wonderful addition to any house. It always impresses friends and family, provide a soothing atmosphere, and the decoration is just incredible. It is also very educative for kids, they will have the opportunity to learn how to feed different animals, interact with different livestock, and eventually have an idea of everything that takes place in the underwater world.
Two things can come in the way of starting your first saltwater aquarium. The first one is the expense of starting a new hobby. An Aquarium is not cheap, and that is why you really need to consider online purchasing as it typically will save you over 50 percent from retail store. The other one is the overwhelming technical knowledge that is required. What chiller do I need to purchase and what size does it needs to be? Should I purchase a Glass or Acrylic Aquarium? How about a 30 Gallons or 60 Gallons Aquarium? It gets very difficult and studying, reading, are the keys in making good purchasing decision. Websites such as this one provide you with an incredible amount of information for each product. They downloaded manuals for most aquarium options, and each product has an incredible amount of description. All this is designed to help you make a sound decision to make the right purchase.
It might be a good idea to carefully check who you are purchasing your product from. Make sure that a website has a SSL certificates. The website should also offer you a variety of shipping options to make sure that you get your purchase in a timely matter.
It is a good idea to start slowly as you build your aquarium from scratch. First start with the basics may be the aquarium, then a thermometer, and a filter with a pump. It will get the water to the right temperature and help the water move around the tank. We recommend using the filters that are pre setup with Nano aquariums such as clear for life or Oceanic aquariums.
Consider the kind of lighting that you will need. Also prebuilt aquariums will require a decision to be made. Mainly the difference between HQI and Power Compact lights needs to be carefully evaluated. The real question is to determine what you are trying to accomplish with your aquarium. HQI lights offer a better lighting system for Coral reef growth, for oyster and for invertebrates. Power Compact lights are more adequate for a non-reef aquarium system. Fish do not require special lightings because their growths do not depend on lights, but rather on their intake of food. Regular corals depend on the stimulation from lights.
The customer will have to also choose the proper kind of equipment around the aquarium. Shall you warm the water too much for corals; you might have to purchase a water chiller to cool it down.
The bigger the tank, the bigger the pump that you need to provide the right amount of filtration, and the right amount of water movement. Corals often needs lights and water movement, similar to a current.
Do not overpopulate you aquarium, it is easy to do. Typically, you would like a maximum of 1 of fish for each gallon in the aquarium. Start slowly; fish must be added one by one over the course of several weeks. It allows the system to adjust itself to the addition of new livestock with the proper creation of bacteria that are good for the water.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – What Type Of Freshwater Aquarium Kit Is Available?
People of all ages enjoy looking at aquariums. Aside from the idea that an aquarium is beautiful, many also believe that setting up an aquarium is a tough undertaking. They may not have heard about freshwater aquarium kits that will enable them to own their first freshwater aquarium with ease. These kits will eliminate the stress of searching, comparing, and buying individual equipment and accessories. They make the aquarium hobby more attractive to beginners and also make learning the hobby much easier on the parents who are teaching their kids. A kit will make it not only easier to learn what is needed for proper set up but also what is required for proper upkeep. As a result, aquarium kits are super popular throughout the world especially with first timers.
Beginners are not just the target market of fish tank kits. There are also high end kits that are customized to fit and complement particular interior designs in homes and offices. They also use top of the line equipment and accessories that promote ease of set up and convenience in maintenance. Promotional items and many of the latest breakthrough products are also being offered in the newer kits. People are given different options through packages that come with the kits. For example, one kit may include substrate and decor in the package while another package excludes substrate and decor, but includes a special type of filter or heater. The price, type and style of kit will determine the quality of the equipment included in the kit.
Standard kits consist of a tank, a stand, a cover with a fluorescent fixture, a fluorescent tube, an air pump, air line tubing, an under gravel filter, a power filter, a heater, a floating thermometer, an aquarium net, fish food, some water conditioner and pebbles.
Small table top and tiolet base kits are available for children and adults alike and make a great first fish tank. These kits come in 2.5 to 5 gallons and are also ideal for small offices and classrooms. They are great for kids and can help the kids understand the basics of taking care of something that is alive at an early age. These kits are easy to set up but do not include the substrate, decorations and fish. The kits do include the tank, a quiet flow filter (with cartridge), a light hood with one incandescent bulb, some water conditioner and a premium fish food sample, and the aquarium set up and care guide. For beginners, these kits are the best start up aquariums they can get their hands on with minimal budget and time.
Specialized freshwater kits are offered in a series. They offer the basic set up and vary on the size of the tank. One of these specialty kits are the Eclipse System series. It boasts 3 stages of filtration, easy set up and operation, and no tubing or noisy air pump. It has a biological filtration system called the BIO-Wheel. It contacts air and water as it rotates and provides oxygen to bacteria that remove ammonia. The BIO-Wheel does not get clogged and is practically maintenance free. It has an injection- molded acrylic tank that provides a 360 degree viewing option. Included in these fish tank kits are a food sample, some water conditioner, a basic light, a basic filter, a matching filter cartridge, an acrylic tank with a matching hood and the BIO-Wheel for movement of water and nutrients.
Other specialized aquarium kits are called River Treasures complete aquarium kits. They come with cylindrical acrylic tanks. These tanks have custom built top and a base crafted with non-toxic materials and comes with a 3 stage submersible filtration system. You can easily remove and clean the accesories and parts of a kit which is another plus. The kit includes some substrate and a heater.
There are small to medium sized freshwater aquarium kits that range from 10 to 50 gallons. In this category, there are packages that have plenty, but stick to the simple equipment and accessories like the standard kit that was mentioned earlier. There are also the fishbowl type of complete aquarium systems but unlike the traditional goldfish bowl, it has 10 times more space and an advanced 5-stage filtration system installed at the bottom of the globe. The kit comes with a tap water conditioner, a biological filtration booster, a 10 watt halogen light, an air pump, and an instruction manual.
There are also compact aquarium systems with built in light and filtration which allow for convenient set up. They have an advanced filtration and improved lighting system and include a protein skimmer, UV sterilizer, a mini hydrometer and a customized stand. An aquarium that is fit for either the home or office and that is a designer tank is the Fluval Edge Aquarium. It has a hidden lighting and filtration system and includes filter media, a tap water conditioner and a biological aquarium conditioner.
High end freshwater aquarium kits are for huge aquariums. There are packaged with custom cabinet stands and a canopy. Many plants, rocks and accesories are well suited to go into a high end fish tank. This one includes a shatter proof heater,an underwater pump, a system of lights that can be accessed without taking the lid off and very effecient water flow and filtering systems. These types of aquarium kits are for affluent hobbyists who have plenty of money to spend.
Aquarium dealers and traders came up with kits to give the hobbyist and aquarists plenty of choices among the various equipment and accessories in the market. If these items are offered in a package, they have a greater chance of being purchased and utilized by the consumer. In a kit, components and accessories are properly matched with the aquarium.
Beginners will have a sort of learning kit where they simply read the detailed instructions from a written guide and apply what they have read. With everything that they are going to need in the box except for the fish, the rocks for the bottom of the tank and some decorations, all of which they can get when they purchase their kit making getting an aquarium this way, convienient as well as easy to learn and easy to set up.

What Type of Aquarium Should I use for Breeding
Breeding fish is something that most fish keepers try doing eventually. If you are planning to breed your fish there are a few things that you will need in order to breed fish successfully. Some of the most important things while breeding fish include baby food and a separate tank. If you are wondering what type of aquarium you should use for breeding, then this article will answer all your questions.
The aquarium that should be used for breeding should be a separate aquarium that is large enough to fit the breeding fish in while allowing them to swim around and get away from each other if things get rough. If you are planning to breed Siamese Spelndens then the aquarium should have a capacity of 10 gallons. For breeding larger fish such as Angel fish then an aquarium that can hold 20 gallons water is ideal. Acrylic aquariums make ideal breeding aquariums if you are planning to separate the fish since these aquariums are available in the right sizes and are sturdy. It is possible to get acrylic aquariums that come with a hood or canopy. These types of aquariums are ideal for breeding a hood will prevent the fish from jumping out.
While breeding your fish, it is important to remember that the aquarium should be at least three weeks old and should have completed the nitrogen cycle since a completely new aquarium without nitrifying bacteria can harm both the fish and the (fries) baby fish. The aquarium chosen to breed the fish should have a sponge filter since this type of filter allows biological filtration which is beneficial to the fry, and sponge filters do not produce a lot of water turbulence. The aquariums should have a few silk or real plants if you are breeding fish that tend to fight during breeding. The aquarium that you choose for breeding should also have a fluorescent light and a heater.
If you are using a breeder’s net it is recommended to opt for a net that does not stress out the fish. The breeders net should allow the fry to swim out of the net while keeping the mother in the net to prevent her from eating the fry. Breeder’s nets are ideal for smaller fish like Guppies that tend to eat their own fry. Breeder’s nets fit perfectly in standard 10 to 20 gallon acrylic aquariums and it is also possible to get larger breeder’s nets for larger acrylic aquariums.

Best Type of Chiller for a Freshwater Aquarium
There is no doubt that chillers can help your aquarium function properly during the hot months by cooling the water and avoiding the loss of dissolved oxygen. If you have a freshwater aquarium and you are looking for information on aquarium chillers then you have come to the right place. The remainder of this article will elaborate on the best type of chillers for a freshwater aquarium.
The most popular chillers available on the market are; drop in chillers, in line chillers and thermoelectric chillers. All of these chillers come with pros and cons and the key to selecting the best type of chiller for a freshwater aquarium is to follow these simple tips.
The first tip for finding the best type of chiller for a freshwater aquarium is to take a close look at the type of convenience each chiller has to offer. If you feel that plumbing is not ideal for you then drop in chillers will be your best option. Since drop in chillers are basically cooling coils that have to be dropped into the wet dry filter or sump. They are extremely low maintenance and cost effective.
The second tip to follow to find the best type of chiller for a freshwater aquarium is to use your aquarium capacity as a guideline. If your aquarium contains less than 50 gallons water and has less water flow, then opting for a thermoelectric chillers would be a good option for you. If your aquarium is larger than 50 gallons or has increased water flow then opting for a powerful in line filter would be the best choice.
The third tip to help you decide the best type of chiller for a freshwater aquarium is to decide if you want a chiller temporarily (during the warmer months) or if you want a chiller left in your aquarium year round. If cost is a concern and you will only need the chiller a few months out of the year then buying a inexpensive temporary one is a good solution. If you want to keep your chiller available year round then a more expensive one is the way to go. A good quality chiller can be used for many years and does not require constant maintenance. In the long run you save money by purchasing a more expensive chiller for your aquarium right from the start.
By following these three tips you can definitely find the best type of chiller for a freshwater aquarium that will suit both your budget and your fishes needs.

What Type Of Fish Tank Filter Do You Need?

What Type Of Fish Tank Filter Do You Need?
You need the right combination of biological, chemical, and mechanical filtration to keep your aquarium clean and healthy, and most of the filter set-ups you can buy combine more than one type of filtration. Here are the most common ones:
A “corner filter” is a box placed inside the tank and filled with filter floss or cartridges. A pump forces water through, mechanically filtering out solid wastes, and bacteria can set up housekeeping in the medium to provide some biological filtration too.
A “canister filter” is a more powerful version of the corner filter. It can be placed inside, or hang outside or underneath the aquarium, and can handle really messy fish, but you do have to clean it very frequently. Like corner filters, you can get a good colony of bacteria to settle in this type too.
A “fluidized bed filter” pumps water through a mechanical and chemical filter, then through a tube full of sand which gives bacteria lots of places to grow. It works best with very oxygen-rich water.
A “power filter” hangs off the back of the aquarium, providing easy access for cleaning and changing the filter medium. It pulls water out of the tank to be pumped through chambers for mechanical and chemical filtration, and many are set up to provide ample space for bacterial colonies to set up biological filtration too.
A “sponge filter” is a tube filled with a spongy medium for bacteria to colonize. The sponge filters water mechanically while the bacteria do their biological bit. Some newer types use two sponges, so you can change one at a time, always leaving one active colony in the tank.
An “undergravel filter” or “UGF” is a plastic plate that you put in underneath your gravel, which lets water or air bubbles trickle slowly up through the gravel to aid bacteria in colonizing the gravel. This doesn’t really do any mechanical filtering, and might have to be combined with another type of filter to remove solid wastes. This type also clogs frequently, and may need to be replaced after a couple of years of use.
A “wet-dry filter”, or “trickle filter” helps to increase the surface area that can be colonized by good bacteria. It is usually made up of a dry plastic tube filled with a filter medium (floss, sponge, paper, etc.), and your tank water is drawn up to trickle down over the medium. This gives bacteria a much larger air to water surface, and thus more oxygen.
All you need to do is find the best combination of filters for your particular livestock, keep the oxygen flowing to keep your bacteria alive and functioning well, and keep the filters clean, and you’ll have a lovely tank and happy fish.

Sponge Filters, Myths and Truths of This Type of Filtration for Aquariums and Ponds
I have read several posts in forums and especially Yahoo answers about Sponge Filters. There is still a lot of misinformation about how a sponge works and is powered along with what they can and cannot do.
There are several models of sponge filters (and several brands, not all are even close to equal). There are sponge filters that work as pre filters for canister filters or HOB filters (where they substantially improve bio filtration during cartridge changes (not to mention they extend the life of filter cartridges allow less frequent changes). There are also sponge filters that work in ponds, aquarium sumps, or work as sponge filters for larger aquariums (the Hydro Pond ).
Where some of the misinformation comes in is how they are powered, many can be or are powered by pumps or power heads not just air pumps.
Another source of misinformation is their capacity as compared to other filters. You cannot compare a small cheap sponge filter model to an Aqua Clear 50 HOB filter. However a Hydro Sponge #5 (powered by a proper air pump (such as a ReSun 9602 ) or a power head (such as a Via Aqua 480 or larger) will easily match the Aqua Clear 50 in bio capacity (or usually exceed it) and mechanical filtration (often chemical filtration is not necessary in a healthy established aquarium, I only use carbon in new aquariums or sometimes after treatment).
The Hydro Pond II or IV will easily exceed the Aqua Clear 110.
All these sponge filters cost much less besides!
And finally another source of misinformation is on comparing all sponge filters as the same. I have used many different models and they are not even close to bio capacity or even flow rate with the same pump (air or water) attached (I have “clocked” the fill rate in a measuring cup of different brand “seasoned” sponge filters and found definite variations). I will admit to trying different brands for cost assuming a sponge was a sponge, however I quickly noticed the difference and then switched to knock offs of Hydro Sponge until I found out about patent infringements. There is a reason that there are so many patent infringements on Hydro Sponge, they work!
